The Cedar Gallery
The Cedar Gallery with it's rustic barn exterior and high vaulted ceiling is the main gallery space and is used to display a changing collection of wall art pieces, sculptural pieces and restored furniture. These works are all by artists and crafts persons from the region.
The Calliope Room
The Calliope Room is an exhibition space of equal proportion to the Cedar Gallery. It is used
to feature talented groups and individuals in our region and their exhibitions.
The Rusty Pelican
Is a rustic little shack housing a changing collection of sculptures, mixed media pieces and canvases by local artist Rosemary Anderson.
The Shabby Shack
Shares a building with the Rusty Pelican studio. The Shabby Shack is a studio for chalk painting and milk painting furniture and homewares. Learn the techniques to paint, distress and stencil your own pieces to display at home. You're also able to purchase supplies from the Shabby Shack.
The Gift Shop
This space houses an eclectic mix of local handicrafts, alpaca products, home wares, and gourmet foods. It truly has something to indulge all of your senses.
Studio Spaces Available to the Public
Cedar Galleries is a working art and crafts village with studio spaces available to the public suitable for creating in various mediums. We have a painting and drawing studio, a sculpture studio and areas suitable for handicraft work. The spaces are available to the public from 9am until 3pm on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays although most artists attend on Fridays creating a vibrant and social atmosphere. To use the spaces you need to bring your own materials and equipment and come to the Café the first time so we can show you around. The cost of enjoying our studio facilites is $4 per visit. You can choose to join in with the folks already using the spaces or create a new group to use the spaces at other available times.
Interested in Learning a New Art or Craft Medium?
For one-on-one or small group beginner classes we can put you in contact with great tutors in a range of mediums including chalk painting and stencilling, sculpture in limestone or Hebel, yarn making on a spinning wheel, mosaic, weaving, leadlight, beading and macramé. Tutoring will be around $15 per hour plus materials and possibly tool hire depending on the medium. Contact us to find out more.
